Chennai, Oct 30 (IANS) Author, screenplay-writer and film director M.T. Vasudeva Nair will be honoured with the K.P. Kesava Menon award for his work in the area of literature.
Nair has been selected for the award considering his comprehensive contributions in social, cultural and literary areas.
Instituted by Tharoor K.P. Kesava Menon memorial trust, the award was announced in a press meet by trust chairman T.R. Vaidyanadhan, secretary E.P. Chinnu Kuttan and jury chairman Mundoor Sedhu Madhavan.
Opposition leader V.S. Achudhanandan will present the award in a function Nov 9 at Tharoor K.P. Kesava Menon auditorium.

Mallika in 'Kadha Marukayanu'
"Byari" fame actress Mallika will next be seen playing one of the female leads in the women-centric movie "Kadha Marukayanu".
Directed by P.K. Sunil Nath, it will be made under the banner of Welcome Productions.
"Kadha Marukayanu" is a female-oriented movie, which revolves around two women, who fight against corruption and injustice that prevails in society.
Nath has written the script. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.

Lijin Jose's next 'Monkeys'
Director Lijin Jose says that his next will be titled "Monkeys" and Manu, Siddharth and Sunny Wayne will play lead roles in it.
His last movie was "Friday" with actors Fahad, Manu and Ann.
The movie is a story about three young boys, who come across a bag containing some substance abuse material.
Produced by Ashiq Usman, the film goes on the floors by the second week of November. Najeem Koya, who wrote the script for "Friday", is penning the "Monkeys" story.
