Microsoft recently launched its Microsoft Surface RT tablet that operates on Windows 8 operating system and Apple launched its iPad mini that operates on iOS 6. From the time they were introduced users are trying to find out which one is better.

Microsoft Surface RT has a 10.6-inch ClearType HD Display that has a 5-point multi-touch. It has a resolution support of 1366x768 pixels. It operates on RT version of Windows 8.
Surface RT generates its power from a Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and 2 GB RAM.
Surface RT features 720p HD LifeCams both front and rear-facing camera. It has Full-size USB 2.0, micro SD card slot, 3.5 audio jack, HD video out port, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
The dimension of this tablet is 10.81 x 6.77 x 0.37 inch and it weighs 1.5lbs
Surface RT is available only in Dark Titanium color and will be available in 32GB and 64GB models.
32GB Surface RT is priced at $499 and 64GB is priced at $599.
iPad mini operates on iOS 6 of Apple. It generates its power from A5 dual-core chip.
iPad mini sports a 7.9-inch LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology having 1024-by-768 resolution. It is topped with a 5 MP iSight rear camera with 1080p full HD video recording and 1.2 MP HD front camera for FaceTime.
iPad mini comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE support, Lightning connector, and Bluetooth 4.0 technology. It has a 10-hour battery backup,
The dimension of iPad mini is 200 mm x 134.7 mm x 7.2 mm and weighs 308 grams.
It comes with Black-Slate and White-Silver.
iPad mini comes is available in 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular options.
16GB Wi-Fi only iPad mini is priced at $329, 32GB at $429, and 64GB costs $529.
16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad mini costs $459, 32GB is priced at $559, and 64GB for $659.
Windows 8 for tablet versus iOS 6 of iPad mini:
The first special difference is the picture password, which is new, innovative and is safer then the numeric password. It is highly impossible to hack this password.
In this windows allows you to select any photo and 3 features of your choice in the photo which when made correctly will unlock the tablet. It also has basic numeric password.
iOS 6 has only the numeric password to unlock.
Windows 8 has cluster of rectangular tiles of different size that are active (It means the weather will change from time to time, news app will show different news from time to time, etc.). On the other hand iOS 6 like always has icons for all the apps.
The Search of Windows 8 is wider then iOS 6. It allows you to search in tablet, within an app, within the settings and much more. iOS 6 allows you to search for an app and other things in tablet but not within.
Microsoft with Windows 8 has changed the conception of operating system for tablet, PC and phone making all of them same. It has added many features that are unique and won't be found in iOS or in Android.

October 28, 2012 at 9:01 PMWindows tablet sucks. First of all it has no games to play, flash player would suck only if you have a keyboard with mouse (which would make the purpose of a tablet fail). It is much harder to use and starts at th same price as the iPad. You may get less storage for the same price but a iPad or iPad mini would be much better and a better experience.
