New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): India and New Zealand signed five Memoranda of Understanding in the different fields of education here on Friday.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Union Human Resource and Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal and New Zealand's Minister for Tertiary, Education, Skills and Employment Steven Joyce.
Sibal after the first meeting of India-New Zealand Education Council sought the cooperation of the opposition in passing the education bills in the winter session of parliament.
He further said the education institutions of New Zealand especially higher education maintain global standards.
Emphasizing that the main aim of his visit is to strengthen links between the two countries even further with education as a key element, Steven Joyce on his part said New Zealand and India share strong people to people links through increasing migration, tourism, education and sporting ties. (ANI)
