Pak women's cricket team 'seeks motivation from legends' ahead of T20 WC

Karachi, Sept. 10 (ANI): The Pakistan women's team will seek to hold sessions with former greats as part of preparations for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 scheduled to start later this month in Sri Lanka.

"Such sessions will be of great help. Their presence does not only bring an improvement technically but it also is a great source to motivate the girls. We had sessions with the great Javed Miandad before and it helped them immensely," The Express Tribune quoted team manager Ayesha Ashar, as saying.

Ashar said she was satisfied with the team's overall performance during the tour to England and the West Indies.

"Our performance against England and West Indies improved. We gave a good fight to these teams and lost only after close contests. There were also remarkable individual performances like Nain's century and Asmavai's (Iqbal) hat-trick," Ashar said.

"The weather was very cold in England but it'll be better in Sri Lanka so we're looking forward to better results," she added.

The women's competition will begin on September 26 with Pakistan playing their first match against England the following day. (ANI)
