Islamabad, Aug 24 (ANI): Pakistan coach Dav Whatmore, whose team is headed for the United Arab Emirates, has said the team needs to keep their heads and close the deal after playing themselves into winning positions.

"The results in Sri Lanka could have been better. As I said earlier, we were 1 ODI win from having a really good tour. Many will recall that we managed to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory". We need to keep our heads and close the deal after playing ourselves into winning positions - greater portion of "software" preferably," Pak Passion quoted Whatmore, as saying.

Whatmore, while commenting on the series against Australia, which is crucial in Pakistan's preparations for the T20 World Cup, said he is confident of the team performing well.

"I remain confident of doing well. All teams give this format of the game due importance....something that wasn't evident in the past. Selection of all teams look strong and it will come down to very small margins that will separate winners from others. A little bit of luck will also play a part," he said. (ANI)
