New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, walked out of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting probing the 2G scam, here on Wednesdy, after falling out with the Congress party over the issue of calling Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for questioning.
BJP also accused the Congress members of using "foul and unparliamentary language" in the meeting.
Interacting with mediapersons, Yashwant Sinha, said the party repeated its demand of calling both Singh and Chidambaram before the JPC in "a most civilized way".
"We wanted a decision on that today because it has been pending for the last eight weeks. The Congress members, mainly some junior members, got agitated and used foul and unparliamentary language," Sinha said.
"We could not take it when they accused us of making it a kangaroo court. We walked out of the meeting," Sinha added.
Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said it was surprising that junior members of Congress had accused Sinha and Jaswant Singh of playing politics by calling for the questioning of the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.
Prasad said no fair investigation could be held unless the two were called before the Committee.
The BJP will announce its decision of resigning from the committee on Thursday. (ANI)
