Chennai, Aug 22 (IANS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to extend its one-time benefit scheme to Gundappa Viswanath, Mohinder Amarnath, Dilip Vengsarkar and Syed Kirmani, who were all left out of the scheme earlier this year.

In a press statement released after the Working Committee meeting here Wednesday, the board said the scheme will now be extended to the four former cricketers, three of whom were members of the 1983 World Cup winning team.

The board also decided to extend the one-time benefit scheme to cricketers who had retired after the 2003-04 season but were eligible for the scheme at the end of the 2003-04 season.

The committee, in a statement, condoled the demise of Vilasrao Deshmukh, former president of the Mumbai Cricket Association and chairman of the Media Committee of the BCCI.

The 82nd Annual General Meeting of the board is to be held in Mumbai on Sep 27.
