Britain's a nation of 62 million bastards, says Jeremy Clarkson

London, August 17 (ANI): Jeremy Clarkson has labelled Britain a "nation of 62million complete and utter bastards" after Twitter trolls mocked his dog's death.

The Top Gear host, 52, was devastated when he had to have his black labrador Whoopi put down.

But his upset turned to anger when he posted the news on the social networking site and got a barrage of abuse and sick wisecracks.

"When a family pet is put down, the family in question is bound to be upset," the Daily Star quoted BBC motoring legend as saying.

"So you'd expect a bit of sympathy. And, in America, that's what you'd get.

"Not in Britain, though. Moments after I posted my tweet, a man called Ryan Paisey asked: 'How does she smell?'

"Adam Farrow said the news was 'kinda funny'. Tom Green said simply: 'Good.'

"Five minutes has now elapsed and still it's a non-stop tirade of abuse. Which confirms my theory. Britain is a nation of 62million complete and utter bastards."

Clarkson, writing in the latest Top Gear magazine, added: "We are the country that invented the concentration camp and international slavery.

"Hanging, drawing, quartering: that was us too.

"I bet if you checked you'd find that, along with everything else, bullying was invented here too," he added. (ANI)
