Bangalore, Aug.10 (ANI): Colourful flowers and floral replicas of animals and birds attracted hordes of tourists to the flower show organised here recently ahead of this year's Independence Day celebrations.
The six-day show was held at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, and the organisers said it would be a low-key affair, as the state government has decided to limit spending for the show due to prevailing drought conditions.
Rotary Deputy Governor Badri Prasad said the show would be a feast for the visitors.
"This is not the first time I am coming. For the last so many years, I have been coming and it is an excellent time where this flower show is being organised. It is a feast for our eyes, very, very colourful, very nice; every flower is so different and so colourful, you feel like looking at them often and often," said Prasad.
The visitors were thrilled to see the show, describing it as a novel experience.
"I feel so good because all the flowers are of different colours, different varieties. They mix different flower groups and make decorations," said Suhas, a visitor.
Appreciating the wide variety of flowers displayed at the show, some of the visitors said that they hardly get to see such variety under one roof.
"It makes you feel happy and if you see such a huge variety of colourful flowers, it just cheers you up," said Amrita, another visitor.
The main attraction of the flower show was a tree house decorated with flowers and flowery sculptures of panda, ducks and dinosaurs.
Along with these decorative themes, attractive flower baskets were also on display at the glasshouse.
Many of the displayed flowers were transported from Ooty, Mysore and other parts of the country. (ANI)
