Jobseekers willing to accept pay cut to find jobs

United Kingdom,Business/Economy, Thu, 09 Aug 2012 IANS

London, Aug 9 (IANS) A majority of jobseekers in Britain are willing to take a job they are over-qualified for in a desperate bid to find employment, while half are ready to accept a pay cut, a study has found.

The survey of more than 7,000 adults showed that around two-thirds were willing to take a part-time job, the Telegraph reported.

This showed the level of compromise to meet the demands of a "stagnant" labour market in Britain, said the report by employment website totaljobs.com.

In some parts of the country, people were unsure they will be employed in the next 12 months.

However, London jobseekers were most confident of finding work in the next year.
