Goa legislators could get IPads

Panaji, Aug 8 (IANS) Goa assembly may go green and paperless by 2013, with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Wednesday suggesting that IPads could be given away to legislators.

In his closing remarks during the monsoon session, Parrikar said the cost of IPads could be recovered because the volume of paper consumed during house business was massive.

"We will also save money on printing cost," Parrikar said, adding that legislators would take only a few days to get used to the hi-tech IPads.

"We use more paper than the permissions given by forest department to cut trees. One hundred and fifty copies of all questions is a lot, lot of paper," Parrikar said.
