Panaji, Aug 2 (IANS) Stepping up vigil in wake of the Pune blasts, the Goa Police have asked hoteliers to keep an eye on tourists visiting the state.

Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh said that hoteliers from the Calangute area, 20 km from here, which sees the highest concentration of tourists annually, were sensitised about threats and that the exercise would be conducted in other tourist areas.

"They were sensitised about such threats and vulnerability and were requested to be more alert and to give any information about the suspicious people coming to their hotels for stay," Singh told reporters.

Singh also said that hoteliers had also been instructed to insist on identity proof and set up CCTV cameras within the hotel premises.

"Border check posts have also set up to monitor vehicles coming into Goa," Singh said.

Pune was rocked by four low intensity blasts Wednesday, leaving one man injured.
