London, July 28 (ANI): US Swim team has released a funny video where they are seen showcasing their dancing and prancing skills while lip synching to Carly Rae Jepsen's hit 'Call Me Maybe.'
The video that has been directed by swimmer Kathleen Hersey, shows the group during both underwater during practice and high above the clouds on a plane, showing that the guys and girls heading for this year's London Olympics just want to have fun.
The video that was posted on the team's YouTube account has already garnered more than 300,000 hits.
"It's no secret that members of the U.S. Olympic swimming team work hard, but there's also a little bit of downtime during training camp," the Daily Mail quoted the team as saying on their website.
In addition to Hersey, Cailtline Leverenz and Alyssa Anderson have also been credited with spearheading the high-spirited sing-along.
USA Swimming National Team staff member Russell Mark polished up the video's final production.
Saying that the video was made as an effort to "blow off a little steam during that spare time," the creators said that the footage incorporated 95 percent of the Olympic gold medal hopefuls.
The video starts on a largely empty plane, with three members of the swim team, including Michael Phelps on the right, donning shades and bobbing their heads to the pulsing beat.
Quickly pictured in swim suits, the camera travels with the team to the pools, their hotel rooms, cars and planes that they shuffle between during their intense training sessions.
The ladies featured in the music video took care of the more complicated verses while leaving the popular chorus to the men. (ANI)
