Washington, July 24 (ANI): Golf child superstar Latanna Stone, a resident of Brandon, Florida, has qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur golf tournament, at the age of 10.
According to news.com.au, Stone won medalist honors in qualifying for the event and is the youngest person to qualify for the event.
Stone shot 70 to win medalist honors and lead six other US Women's Amateur qualifiers at the Wanderers Club this month.
Stone is coached by the sister of former world No.1 Annika Sorenstam.
Stone's form has made her enter the record books as the youngest golfer to ever qualify for next month's tournament.
She is two years younger than the previous youngest golfer to compete in the event.
Stone, who at age eight stated her goal career was to qualify for the event by the age of 10, and has achieved her objective and will now join women three and four times her age at The Country Club in Cleveland for the August 6-12 event.
And despite her tender age, Stone has plenty of experience playing under pressure, having won more than 100 tournaments during her career. (ANI)
