Coleen Rooney pays tribute to granddad with emotional message

London, July 14 (ANI): Coleen Rooney has written a touching memorial message to grandfather Tommy after he died at the age of 75.

The footie star's wife revealed her heartbreak over the death of former pub landlord Tommy McLoughlin - father of Coleen's father tony McLoughlin.

In the message, printed in a local paper, Coleen recalled her favourite memories of her grandfather.

"Granddad, where do I start? You have left me with so many special memories, from spending my school holidays with you and my nan, helping down the pub to being stranded on the 'love boat' in the middle of Italy at our wedding," the Daily Mail quoted her as writing.

"But the one main memory you have left me with, if what a proud, well-respected family man you were. Everyone in your life had so much love and respect for you and that reflects on our family. You have been a massive influence on us all.

"I love you so much Granddad and we will all look after my Nan ('your bird') for you. You will be missed by so many people, love your Colly Wobbles XXX," she wrote.

Hubby Wayne also wrote a message to Tommy who, until his death, had been licencee of the Kings Vaults pub in Garston, Liverpool.

The 26-year-old England and Manchester United striker paid tribute to him writing: "Tommy, you were a great friend and mentor to me and I really enjoyed our chats in the 'shed.'

"I am going to miss the way you understood me and also the love and support you had for me and all the family. The Kings won't be the same! Love you Wayne," he wrote.

The message was completed with a touching note from Coleen and Wayne's two-year-old son Kai, which read: "To my Granddad Mc, I am going to miss visiting you on my days out with Granddad Tony.Love you loads Your little Kai XXX."

The news comes as Coleen and Wayne returned from an 11-day break in Los Angeles last week, and were spotted joking around with son Kai in Liverpool on Wednesday.

A funeral for Tommy, known to friends as "Flopper," will be held at St Francis of Assisi Church in Mossley Hill, next Wednesday.

Tommy is survived by wife Dolly and children Tommy, Marie, Brian, Tracy and Coleen's father Tony. (ANI)
