London, July 10 (IANS/RIA Novosti) South Korea midfielder Park Ji Sung has joined English football club Queen's Park Rangers from Manchester United on a two-year contract, the London side announced.

QPR, looking to reinforce their squad after escaping relegation by a single point last season, signed the 31-year-old international for an undisclosed fee.

Park has become QPR's sixth summer signing after adding ex-England goalkeeper Robert Green, striker Andrew Johnson, New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen, Mali midfielder Samba Diakite, and full-back Fabio da Silva, loaned from Manchester United, to their ranks.

Manager Mark Hughes hailing Park for the stability he can bring to the team.

"This is a real coup for QPR. He has been a big player for Manchester United and played a big part in their success in recent years. He was always picked for the big matches because they could rely on him, and we are going to reap all those qualities," Hughes was quoted as saying by the club's website.

Park said that he was attracted by the club's ambition.

"(Owner) Tony Fernandes and the Board are striving to accomplish big things at QPR and I wanted to be part of that," he said.

"This project was simply too good to resist, and I am excited about getting started in pre-season and going on our tour to Asia in the coming days," Park added.

He scored 19 goals in 134 appearances for the Red Devils after arriving in 2005 from PSV Eindhoven. His career history includes four Premier League titles, three League Cups and the 2008 Champions League trophy.
