Bodies of soldiers killed in Kashmir avalanche recovered

Srinagar, July 9 (IANS) Bodies of two army soldiers buried in an avalanche in north Kashmir January were Monday recovered from the melting snow, police said.
A senior police officer said here that bodies of Ajay Kumar and Lalit Mohan Singh of 1 Bihar Regiment were recovered in Keran sector of the Line of Control (LOC) in Kupwara district.
The soldiers were buried under a avalanche Jan 24, 2012. The bodies have been brought to Sub District Hospital, Kralpora (Kupwara) for legal formalities.
Due to heavy snowfall this winter, Kashmir witnessed a number of avalanches hitting higher reaches, especially during the spring.
