London, July 8(ANI): British tennis star Andy Murray, who would be looking to create history on Sunday by becoming the first British tennis star to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936, could earn around 50 million pounds in sponsorship deals if he manages to outplay six-times champions Roger Federer in the final at the Centre Court on Sunday.

According to marketing and PR experts with the help of manager Simon Fuller, the man behind star footballer David Beckham, Murray could be lobbed around 10 million pounds a year over the next five years.

The Scot is likely to be served up many well-paid sponsorship deals, according to PR guru Max Clifford.

A one million worth deal for Murray has already been lined up with Swiss watch giant Rado, according to sources.

The makers of Nintendo Wii U, which is due out for Christmas, are also believed to want Murray for a TV ad -campaign. Royal Bank of Scotland, which already works with Murray, wants TV commercials from September.

Century Publishers, which released his autobiography in 2008, has also offered a deal for a second edition, and all of this will be on top of the huge 1.15 million pounds winner's cheque if Murray defeats the Swiss maestro.

"Tennis is an incredibly lucrative sport. We haven't had a British champion for many years and Wimbledon is a huge theatre, so that gives him huge potential," The Daily Star quoted Clifford, as saying.

"You are talking about 50million pounds in the next five years if he wins. I can see clothing -companies, drinks companies and -someone like British Airways coming in for him," he added.

"He's got to be very selective in what he goes for and what he turns down - it's got to be quality rather than quantity. Simon Fuller has been looking after Beckham for the last few years so he knows all about the endorsements, -sponsorship and potential," he said. (ANI)
