Centre forms National Monitoring Committee for lower castes

New Delhi, June 27 (ANI): The government, on Wednesday, constituted the National Monitoring Committee for Education with an aim to deal with the issues and problems of the lower castes and the specially abled.

Announcing the move, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal added that task forces would be appointed within the committee with an aim to empower children through education.

"We are setting up a National Monitoring Committee and under it we are setting up a number of task forces to deal with different issues related to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and persons with disabilities. Those task forces will look at different issues in the context of empowering our children through education," Sibal said.

The task forces will consist of representatives of the state governments.

Sibal also said that the task forces would consult the experts belonging to different fields and ensure that the children belonging to lower castes and those who are specially abled are empowered. (ANI)
