Fire engulfs Sufi shrine in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 25 (ANI): A fire broke out at the 200-year-old Peer Dastgeer Sahib shrine in Srinagar early on Monday morning.

Over a dozen fire tenders were sent to the spot to douse the blaze.

While no casualties were reported, evacuation at the site of the fire continues, as some people were feared to be trapped inside the shrine.

The old wooden structure caught fire and sustained extensive damage.

An investigation has been ordered to ascertain what caused the fire.

Muslims call the saint Ghaus-e-Azam while Hindus revere the saint as Kahnoow.(ANI)
