London, June 24 (ANI): Coach Paul Grayson believes star cricketer Alastair Cook will force his way into England's T20 side after reinventing himself as a 'master blaster'.

Cook, nicknamed 'Chef', was not picked for England's T20 against West Indies at Trent Bridge today, but Grayson reckons it is only a matter of time before he plays in all three formats for England, now that he has cracked the shortest format.

"It seems only a matter of time before Cooky plays T20 for England," the Daily Star quoted Grayson, as saying.

In 27 innings in T20 at -county level, Cook has scored 834 runs at an average of 33.6 per innings and has scored one century and five half-centuries.

"If it was down to me I would certainly pick him. And the reason why? Because he's a quality player and his game has developed so much in recent years," Grayson said.

"But when people say your strike rate is not good enough you need to go away and improve - and that's exactly what Alastair did. He's added a few new shots and his strike rate in one-day -internationals is -probably as good as anyone in the world right now," he added. (ANI)
