Oz actress Sharon tipped to make acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt's next

Mumbai, June 19 (ANI): Actress Sharon has been chosen as one of the six finalists, who will travel to India to audition for the reality show 'Bollywood Star', passing which, she will win a role in Mahesh Bhatt's next major movie.

Like many other young Australian Indians, Sharon had followed the "traditional" career path to please her Punjabi Sikh parents, and for the last four years has been a successful lawyer practicing in Melbourne.

However, she never gave up on her dream of becoming a bollywood star, secretly escaping as a young girl to learn dance and acting without her parent's knowledge, Hello! Bollywood reported.

Raised on a farm in rural South Australia where she is often seen on tractors, trucks and ATV motorcycles, she is intensely proud of her "Aussie bogan" and rural roots, as well as her rich Indian heritage.

As a 14-year-old she travelled the world and returned to India for a year to study her culture at the foothills of the Himalayas, which has had a profound and lasting effect on her.

She has had a turbulent personal and family life, and said that her life has the ups, downs and emotional experiences of "a Bollywood movie."
