US First Lady shows off 'expert' double Dutch skills on TV show

New York, June 19 (ANI): Michelle Obama gave her fellow Americans the thrill of their lives with an impressive round of Double Dutch on live TV on Monday morning.

The First Lady surprised the young members of the Cary YMCA SuperSkippers jump rope team during a segment on "Live with Kelly!" which taped May 30.

"We have an expert Double Dutcher in the building," the New York Daily News quoted host Kelly Ripa as saying.

Dressed in a pair of bright blue trousers, a flower-print blouse and a green cardigan, the 48-year-old Obama helped coach a frightened Ripa, who said that she was "dying to learn" the sport.

"Turning is just as important as jumping," Obama said.

The 42-year-old talk show host successfully jumped rope on her second try.

"That was amazing! Did I look as dignified?" Ripa said.

After her first attempt didn't pan out, Obama instructed the members of the competition team to "turn faster" before she jumped in to show off her skills.

"I need a nap!" exclaimed Obama.

This is not the first time Obama has showed off her moves.

She had gotten rave reviews last summer when she had danced the Dougie, the Running Man and the Cha-Cha alongside students during a visit to a local Washington D.C. middle school as part of her nationwide "Let's Move" initiative.

In September, she had first showed off her double dutch skills when she was spotting filming a PSA for Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play on the South Lawn of the White House.

And then in February she had danced her way onto the stage during an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'. (ANI)
