Accountant, wife booked for fraud

Gurgaon, June 16 (IANS) Police Saturday registered a case against a former chief accounts officer and his wife for duping Rajasthan government's agency RIICO of lakhs of rupees, an official said.

Rakesh Kumar Malhotra and his wife Jony Malhotra were booked for fraud and breach of trust for duping RIICO Auto Industries, situated in sector 34 on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, of Rs.45 lakh.

The FIR was lodged following a complaint by the company's MD Arvind Kumar.

Police said that till December 2011, Rakesh Kumar was working as chief accounts officer in the company.

A resident of New Delhi's Pashchim Vihar, accused Rakesh transferred the amount using five blank cheques of the company to his wife's account.

The fraud was carried out during his job tenure, and was divulged in the audit report of the company, said investigative officer Ramphal Singh. No arrests were made.
