Iran arrests suspects linked to assassination of nuke scientists

Tehran , Fri, 15 Jun 2012 ANI

Tehran, June 15 (ANI): Iran's intelligence service has reportedly detained suspects linked to assassination of the country's nuclear experts.

According to state-run media, the intelligence department said that the suspects had alleged roles in the killings of a nuclear researcher in late 2010 and two employees at Iran's main uranium enrichment facility in January.

The report, however, did not identify the suspects or give other details.

Iran believes that assassination of its nuclear experts are part of covert operations led by Israel, News24 reports.

According to the report, Iran previously had reported arrests linked to the slayings.

In May, Iran hanged a man convicted for the killing of a nuclear physicist in early 2010.

Also, almost five Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed since 2010.

The US and Britain have denied any role, and Israel has made no comment on Iran's accusations. (ANI)
