New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) A 34-year-old graduate was apprehended in the capital for trying to sell two leopard skins, police said Wednesday.

Vimal Kishore was arrested from east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar Tuesday.

"The skins recovered from him are expected to be worth around Rs.10 lakh," said Sanjay Kumar Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways).

Kishore, who is working as a taxi driver, told police that he keeps on visiting the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand where he came in contact with one Mahen who is involved in killing wild animals and selling their skins.

"Mahen told Kishore that these two skins could be sold for lakhs of rupees in Delhi. Kishore was lured into this trade," Jain said.

A case under appropriate sections of the Wildlife Act has been registered against Kishore and further investigation is on to nab the main accused.
