London, June 13(ANI): Kirsten Tucker-Cannuli created history by becoming the first ever woman to compete in the Pro Stock drag racing category in Australia, and her younger brother and racing mentor, Shane Tucker, won the Pro Stock round.
'We made history' are the words Kirsten Tucker-Cannuli keeps repeating to herself since making the record.
"I am so proud to claim the FUCHS Winternationals win, it is a very hard thing to do, but even so, I am even more proud of my sister Kirsten and what she has achieved here this weekend," The Courier Mail quoted Shane, as saying.
I am a tough teacher but she was so impressive, I am so proud of her," he added.
The fairytale ending marked the beginning of Kirsten's professional drag racing career after achieving her drag racing licence on Friday night at Willowbank Raceway.
Kirsten, from Carbook, needed to complete a full run down the quarter mile strip in under 7.99 second to gain qualification.
"For me, it was all about concentration on getting the job done and I had never waited so long to see the time. The crowd was silent waiting for the result," she said.
A run of 7.77 seconds flashed up on the screen to send the crowd and the Tuckers into celebration.
"It's a great feeling just to be a part of it," Kirsten concluded. (ANI)
