London, June 13 (IANS) Russian business tycoon Roman Abramovich is about to lose his title as the owner of the world's largest private yacht after a staggering 590-feet vessel being built in Germany is completed, it was reported here.
The 400-million-pound mega-yacht, known only as Project Azzam, is 54 feet longer than the Eclipse, which is Abramovich's current flagship vessel.
It is rumoured the boat, which is longer than some cruise ships, has been commissioned by the Saudi Royal Family, Daily Mail reported Tuesday.
Photographers captured the vessel as it was transported out of the 170-metre dry dock at German shipbuilder Lurssen's yard because it had become too large.
Lurssen has refused to discuss the top secret yacht although rumours in the industry are that it is being built for Saudi billionaire Al-Waleed bin Talal, according to the Mail.
