'Axed' Rio Ferdinand heads to Jay-Z and Kanye West's gig

London, June 13 (ANI): Rio Ferdinand along with his wife Rebecca Ellison enjoyed a night out in Manchester to watch hip-hop royalty Jay-Z and Kanye West take to the stage at their Watch The Throne concert, despite being axed from the Euro 2012 England squad.

While the English team headed back to Krakow after held to a 1-1 draw by France, Ferdinand was spotted heading to a show at the MEN Arena.

The 33-year-old footballer wore a navy blue jacket with a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans to the event, and completed his look with a pair of high top trainers.

"At Jay-Z and Kanye West concert......love these 2 artists!! #HAM," the Daily Mail quoted him tweeting.

It appeared that during the show he received some kind comments from other concert goers, as another post from the night read, "The people at the Jay-Z/Kanye concert humbled me no end last night. Appreciate that s***! Was hectic though!"

However Ferdinand, who fears that his international career may be over following his Euro 2012 axing, still watched England's clash with France tweeting throughout the Group D match.

Despite Roy Hodgson leaving him out of his Euro 2012 squad the sportsman let his Twitter followers know that he would still be supporting the three lions.

"Just so we dont get it twisted ere....i'll be in a pub somewhere supporting England this summer! Love the lads!" he wrote. (ANI)
