Portugal chief Paulo Bento denies bust-up with Ronaldo

London, June 13 (ANI): Portugal manager Paulo Bento has insisted there has been no bust-up with star striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Skipper Ronaldo stormed straight off the pitch after Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Germany, without even acknowledging his manager.

However, Bento rubbished reports that the Real Madrid superstar missed yesterday's training session following criticism of the manager from Portugal legends Luis Figo and Rui Costa.

"I can assure you that there were 23 players on the training pitch today, and in all our time here, Ronaldo has not missed one session," The Sun quoted Bento, as saying.

"Not everyone reacts the same way to disappointment and stressful situations. And, from a certain point of view, I can even understand Cristiano's reaction. But if anyone had a right to be dissatisfied on Saturday, it was the Portuguese people. I apologise for that," he added. (ANI)
