New Delhi, June 13 (ANI): Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Wednesday lashed out at Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and Infosys Technologies founder N R Narayana Murthy for distrusting the policies of the government.

Premji and Murthy had earlier criticised the government for lack of leadership and said that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had not introduced many reforms in its regime.

"There is a vote of no-confidence against the government it succeeds. In these circumstances it is exactly the same leadership that Azim Premji and his colleagues were praising to the skies that is today running the country. What they really mean is that when the economy was growing very fast the biggest beneficiaries were people like Premji and Murthy and others of the IT sector, which is one of the smallest employers in India but one of the biggest profit rakers in the country," said Aiyar.

Aiyar also said that the information and technology companies merely work towards fulfilling their vested interests.

"They are representing a sectional interest. I don't believe they even understand the national interest, let alone explain it. All they understand is the bottom lines of their companies and those of their colleagues in CII and other such nefarious organisations," added Aiyar.

Fuming over letter written by Premji to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over rampant corruption in the society, Aiyar said that in the first place Premji should set his office right.

"After all it is these people who rake enormous profits and send them out of the country in terms of black money. The letter regarding corruption should have been addressed to himself, to Narayana Murthy and to all their other colleagues who are responsible of fountain of corruption in this country. They are representing class interest, the government of India represents the national interest," said Aiyar.

However, backing the remarks made by the IT czars, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the current leadership is weak and paralytic.

"The impact of cutting off from the grass root economy is that the nation is facing problems from all sides. The leadership definitely seems helpless, weak and moreover looks paralytic. As a result the problems of people are getting out of reach of government and inflation is increasing and several cases of corruption are increasing manifold," Naqvi added. (ANI)

Mr Iyer has lost his mind & the frustration of failure is coming out in his statements. Congress is all set the reward the incompetent finance minister with the post of president now. It's busy garnering support for him and don't have time to fix the mess they have created for this country.
