Hot start to week in Delhi

New Delhi, June 11 (IANS) The Indian capital experienced a hot start to the week Monday, with the maximum temperature settling two notches above average at 41.4 degrees Celsius. The met department has predicted similar weather Tuesday.

The day's minimum temperature also surged two notches above average to 30 degrees Celsius. Humidity readings of the day saw a maximum and minimum of 44 and 22 percent respectively.

"Tuesday should see mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be 42 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively," an official at the India Meteorological Department told IANS.

Sunday's maximum temperature settled three notches above average at 41.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above average.
