New Delhi, June 9 (ANI): Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Shahid Malik, has expressed hope that the bilateral cricket ties between the two neighbouring nations will resume soon.

"If it was left to me, I would start the series tomorrow, but the two cricket boards are discussing this," Malik told media here on Friday.

" The chairman of the Cricket Board of Pakistan is in touch with Mr. Srinivasan, the chairman of the Cricket Board of India. He was here recently, our chairman ... was here recently and he met the chairman of the Cricket Board of India, he met the president of the ICC (International Cricket Council) Mr Sharad Pawar, he also met Mr Rajiv Shukla and of course the discussions centred around the desirability of reviving the bilateral cricket series between the two countries," he added.

Malik disclosed that a squad of cricketers would be visiting India soon to participate in the T-20 championship.

"The silver lining is the invitation to Sialkot Stallions, the T20 champion team from Pakistan to come and play during the champions league in October in India. So in a sense a start has been made and we hope that this will lead to full revival of cricketing ties between Pakistan and India," he said. (ANI)
