Larsen and Toubro's arm bags orders worth Rs.2,410 crore

Mumbai, June 7 (IANS) Larsen and Toubro (l&T) Thursday said its construction arm has bagged new orders worth Rs.2,410 crore during the first quarter of 2012-13.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the buildings and factories unit had secured new orders worth Rs.1,821 crore.

The orders had been bagged from leading developers for construction of major residential towers in various cities in the northern part of the country, it added.

The firm also said that while the infrastructure unit had bagged orders worth Rs.345 crore, the water and effluent treatment business had got orders worth Rs.244 crore.

The infrastructure unit's order has come for design and construction of viaduct and three elevated stations for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The water and effluent unit's orders had come from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board for upgrading the existing water distribution systems, including additional orders from various ongoing projects.
