Man hacks wife in front of kids, held

London, June 4 (IANS) A 32-year-old Turkish man has been arrested in Germany after he butchered his wife in front of their six minor children and threw her severed head from the roof of their apartment.

Orhan Sircasi, a resident of Kreuzberg district of German capital Berlin, also tried to attack police officers with a knife as they tried to arrest him Monday, the Daily Mail reported.

He ran to the roof of his five-storey apartment building clutching his wife's severed head, which he threw to the street below. He was then overpowered by police and taken into custody.

His six children are aged from nine months to 10 years.

A neighbour said the accused made his children watch as he butchered their mother.

Neighbours called the police after they heard screams from the flat.

Local media said the man was often violent towards his wife, beating and kicking her if she displeased him, especially after he had been drinking.
