Islamabad, Jun 3(ANI): Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema has said newly appointed Twenty20 captain Mohammad Hafeez should be given proper time to show his leadership qualities after a disappointing start to his tenure.
Pakistan lost the first Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka by 37 runs, but Cheema said Hafeez would take time to settle down as the leader of the ship.
Hafeez got out to the first ball of the innings, and made several questionable decisions, but Cheema believes he still has the players' support.
"The loss hurt all of us but people should understand that we have a new leader and a new team so they need time to gel," The Express Tribune quoted Cheema, as saying.
"The mood in the camp is good and we're looking to make amends for our mistakes. We need to capitalize on the chances that come our way," he added. (ANI)
