Action works for Akshay, 'Rowdy Rathore' earns Rs.29.8 cr

Mumbai, June 3 (IANS) It seems that viewers are liking Akshay Kumar in his action hero avatar in "Rowdy Rathore", which earned Rs.29.8 crore on the first two days.
"Rowdy Rathore" is Akshay's widest release so far on 2,800 screens in the country, said a statement. Made on a budget of Rs.45 crore, the film released Friday and grossed Rs.15.10 crore on the opening day.
Directed by Prabhu Deva and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the film marked Akshay's return to a full-fledged action role after seven years.
Apart from entertaining audiences with raw action, Akshay is seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha in the film.
