Zardari wanted to give indemnity to Musharraf: Sharif
Lahore, May 28 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari had a discussion with him regarding offering an indemnity to former president Pervez Musharraf after he decided to step down from the presidency.
Sharif said President Zardari had shown no interest in "becoming the president back then" and that Nawaz had a written account of that, but then Zardari "deceptively" took over the presidency, reports The Express Tribune.
"I was shocked when he became the president and so were the people of Pakistan," he said.
He further said that his party did not vote for Zardari as the president. (ANI)
