Athletes throng Bengaluru's annual marathon

Bengaluru, May 27 (ANI): Sprinters from across the globe gathered here on Sunday to participate in the annual TCS World 10K marathon.
More than 15,000 athletes participated in the event that witnessed the who's who of sporting fraternity in attendance.
The run was flagged off by Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda.
The participants were elated to be a part of the event, that comprised of five categories; World 10k for elite men, World 10k for elite women, senior citizen run, wheel chair and an open run.
"I am happy to be here, after this I will participate in the 5000 kilometre run and I have come from Kenya," said Geoffrey Kipsang, winner of the World 10k category for elite men.
He was followed by Kenyans Alex Korio and Victor Kipchirchir, who clocked 28 minutes and nine seconds, and 28 minutes and 15 seconds respectively.
Kenya completed a clean sweep in the Elite Women category too, with Helah Kiprop completing the run in 32 minutes and 22 seconds, followed by Esther Chemutai and Doris Changeywo, who finished in 32 minutes and 34 seconds and 32minutes and 44seconds respectively. (ANI)

I don't understand how you can call it a 10k marathon. marathon by definition is 42.195 km. So there is no way your title to this story can be "Bengaluru's annual marathon", because it wasn't a marathon, it was just a 10k race.
