Dimapur (Nagaland), May 25 (ANI): The reconciliation meet of Nagaland's militant outfits to amicably resolve their differences will take place at Chiang Mai in Thailand.

Speaking to mediapersons, the General Secretary of Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland - National Socialist Council of Nagalim's (GRPN-NSCN), a militant organization active in the region, N. Kitovi Zhimomi said they wanted to sort out the differences among themselves.

"Even if there is referendum, there is a chance for the Naga people to sit across the table and sort out their problems. So we have decided that by any means we will participate to sort out the differences," he said.

Leaders of the GPRN-NSCN outfit, however, are leaving for Thailand immediately, so that they could participate in the talks.

Zhimomi added here that the neighbouring states must recognize the rights of the Naga people.

The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held on May 21, but was indefinitely deferred as the outfits failed to arrive at a consensus on the date. (ANI)
