London, May 25(ANI): Manchester City, who have conquered the domestic front, are now looking to win Europe's most elite trophy, the Champions League, but they once again face the prospect of ending up in a group of potential tournament winners.
Last season, City were knocked out in the group stages of the Champions League after getting drawn against Napoli, Villarreal and eventual finalists Bayern Munich and finished third despite accumulating 10 points.
This year also City could end up in a group, which includes the champions of Spain, Italy and Germany when the draw is made, The Daily Star reports.
Mancini's men will be in pot two for the draw in Monaco on August 30 and will face one of the top seeds from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan or Porto.
But Serie A champions Juventus will be in pot three alongside super-rich French outfit Paris St -Germain, while Bundesliga kings Borussia Dortmund will probably be in pot four.
The list of 32 qualifiers for the group stage won't be known until after the -preliminary rounds are completed in August. (ANI)
