London, May 17 (ANI): Vogue magazine has released a behind-the-scenes video showing the elaborate sets that were used to make photographer Annie Leibovitz's vision come to life, to mark the celebration of the magazine's Olympic themed June cover.

Swimmer Ryan Lochte is seen swimming on a sheet of plastic, while soccer star Hope Solo and tennis champion Serena Williams giggle as they run down on a Miami Beach.

A highlight of the edition is watching the serious-faced Ashton Eaton as he hurdles over a floating Karlie Kloss.

The 24-year-old Olympic decathlon hopeful joked in the candid video: "Hurdling over a supermodel in the water, not what you do every day," the Daily Mail reported.

The video also highlights the unbelievable digital post-production that goes into a Vogue shoot.

Many of the images in the Olympic feature consist of two action shots, one of the star athletes, and one of the supermodel, which are then re-worked and put together to create effortless looking portraits.

Filming the Olympic gold hopefuls as they swim, jump, serve, and run with Kloss, the video also captures the graciousness of each athlete.

The athlete's also had messages for young sporting hopefuls, and touched on how they got into the business.

While Williams' father started her on tennis at the age of three, basketball player Dwyane Wade revealed: "My father put the ball in my hand and kind of said, go play".

"My dad was a swim coach when I was growing up," Lochte said.

"My message that I want to get across to kids is just have fun. Life's too short, you've gotta live life to the fullest," Lochte said.

Gymnast Johnathan Horton also had words of advice for the aspiring athletes.

"There have been days when I've just been down in the dumps. But it was worth it to me and worth fighting every bit of effort that I had," Horton said.

"Once I realised, wow, I can make the Olympics, my confidence level changed. Believing is a big part of it. If it's important to you, its worth fighting for," he added.

Eaton admitted he sometimes questions his profession as a decathlete.

"Sometimes in competition I get so nervous, and the event is so long, I'm like, ah, why am I am doing this again?" he said.

"But then I do something like preparing for the Olympics, and I'm like, alright, this makes sense now. Being an athlete is so cool," he added. (ANI)
