New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday backed Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan over reports that the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is considering imposing a ban on him from the Wankhede Stadium, saying the media is not aware of the Bollywood actor's version of the matter.

Yadav, however, said that all people entering the stadium should be properly investigated, including Shah Rukh.

"All people who come to the stadium either to watch the match or for participation should be properly investigation, whether it is Shahrukh Khan or anybody else. You all not aware of Shah Rukh's version of the matter, just speaking what is being told. All people, who come to the stadium after consuming liquor, should be properly investigated," said Yadav.

"Does Shahrukh only smoke cigarette? I had earlier asked Shahrukh to quit smoking for it is injurious to health," he added.

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Vilasrao Deshmukh earlier in the day said that the MCA managing committee will take final call on banning Shah Rukh Khan or not.

"The managing committee has suggested ban on SRK. Managing Committee will decide what action to take on SRK brawl," said Deshmukh

"I was not present when the alleged incident occurred. However, MCA officials complained about SRK's behaviour," he added.

Earlier, Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council chairman Rajiv Shukla said no final decision has been taken on banning Khan from the Wankhede Stadium.

"I will take the version of the MCA, Shah Rukh Khan and the police before talking about the issue," Shukla said.

"The decision of a ban is taken by the Working Committee (of the BCCI). So, I will speak to MCA President Vilasrao Deshmukh on this. I have to take the version of all parties involved and then speak," he added.

The scuffle happened last night when the actor and his entourage were stopped from going on to the ground after the match, which the Kolkata Knight Riders won.

The cricket association has lodged a police complaint and said it will also complain to the BCCI. (ANI)
