Hodgson says England veterans confident of their chances at Euros
London, May 17(ANI): England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed senior players like Frank Lampard Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Joe Hart are confident of their chances to win the Euro Cup.
The expectation levels have never been so low for an England team going into a tournament, following previous disappointments and last few months' pandemonium.
But Hodgson believes those disquieting circumstances can actually help inspire England at the finals in Ukraine and Poland this summer.
An unexpected Greece side managed to win the Euros in 2004 and Denmark, who qualified by default, with the players reporting back for duty from the beach lifted the trophy against all the odds in 1992.
"The senior players I've spoken to, who have one or two tournaments behind them and one or two disappointments where they've had to come home and face criticism, would tell you we can win it," The Daily Mirror quoted Hodgson, as saying.

You can get by with good team spirit, a bit of luck at the right times, if the referee gives you a goal you shouldn't have had or -disallows them a goal they should have had," he added.
Hodgson added: "We go there, believing we can do a good job. We're one of the 16 teams there. I'm not a gambler, but...." (ANI)
