Heat wave in Odisha, Titilagarh sizzles at 45 degrees

Bhubaneswar, May 16 (IANS) Odisha continued to reel under a severe heat wave Wednesday with one of its towns recording a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, the day's highest in the state, an official said.
Titilagarh town in Balangir district, about 400 km from here, recorded 45 degrees Celsius, a senior official of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre told IANS. Titilagarh had recorded 44.5 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
The other places which witnessed high temperatures Wednesday included Sambalpur (44.5 degrees), Sonepur (44 degrees), and Balangir (43.8 degrees Celsius), he added.
The state capital Bhubaneswar also sizzled at 42.6 degrees Celsius. The heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in several parts of the state during the next two days, the weatherman added.
