Italian dies after wife stabs him in genitals

Rome, May 16 (IANS/AKI) A 61-year-old man from the Italian port city of Livorno died after being repeatedly stabbed in the penis by his wife.

The 57-year-old woman admitted to attacking her husband in a jealous rage after he said he had spent a night with another woman. She also stabbed him in the abdomen.

The man was admitted to a hospital in a critical condition and operated on after the frenzied attack by his wife during the weekend.

His wife said she attacked him when he returned home drunk, after he had confessed his infidelity in a phone call. She only called an ambulance when her husband's condition worsened.

The woman, originally from Germany, faces murder charges.
