General V.K. Singh says he has not finalised post retirement plan
Shimla, May 15 (ANI): Chief of Army Staff, General V.K. Singh, on Tuesday said that he has not decided on doing anything after retirement.
When asked to comment on veteran social activist Anna Hazare's invitation to him to join his team, General Singh said: "I have not decided on anything after retirement."
Gen Singh will retire on May 31, paving way for Army Chief-designate Lt Gen Bikram Singh to take over the reins of the Indian Army.
Hazare had earlier last week invited the Army Chief to join his team after retirement in the countrywide campaign against corruption.
"We need likeminded people in our team and if interested, Gen. V.K. Singh is welcome to join us after his retirement. It would be his choice," he said.
General Singh earlier today met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal at the State Secretariat here.ince many years, the expansive Annandale Grounds located at a prime location in the hill resort station has been the bone of contention between the Army authorities and the state government.
The Army has contended that the Annandale Grounds is of high strategic value and a vital base for operation by its helicopters.
During the meeting, General Singh and Dhumal discussed this issue among others.
Later responding to posers from journalists, the Army Chief said an amicable solution is in the offing.
"See, we are talking on that issue. And I am sure that we will be able to find a mutually acceptable solution," he said. (ANI)
