Tehran, May 15 (Xinhua-ANI): Iran on Tuesday hanged a man convicted of assassinating an Iranian nuclear physicist, the state IRIB TV reported.

Majid Jamali Fashi, who was also accused of being an agent of the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, was hanged in Tehran on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, a professor of Tehran University, was killed by a remote controlled bomb attached to a motorbike near his home in northern Tehran in January 2010.

Iran has accused Israel of assassinating its nuclear scientists, and has blamed the United States for being behind the terror acts against Iranian scholars.

The West suspects that Iran's uranium enrichment program might be aimed at producing nuclear weapons. Iran has categorically denied the accusations, saying its nuclear program is only for peaceful use. (Xinhua-ANI)
