Tamukhong (Manipur), May 13(ANI): A youth social organization club in Tamukhong, Manipur, has condemned the trend of fake encounters conducted by security personnel, and demanded prompt action against the guilty.

Speaking at a recent public meeting in the area, Laishram Shyamkishore, the chairman of Tamukhong village, and the father of a fake encounter victim, Nobin, condemned the betrayal of army personnel for killing his son after he had agreed to surrender.

Laishram Shyamkishore said that his son wanted to surrender before the Assam Rifles, and added that he himself had handed his son and two others to Assam Rifles Major Hanuman.

He added that his son, Laishram Nobin was an activist of the KYKL (MNLT) for about ten years, and desired to comeback into the social mainstream.

But sadly, inspite of promises made, Assam Rifles Major Hanuman let him and his village down.

The three, including Nobin were killed at Chadong Tangkhul village in Ukhrul district on May 9.

The other two killed were identified as Ningthoujam Ingocha and Irengbam Roshan. (ANI)
