Ferguson convinced Man City winning PL title wouldn't mark end of Man U's era

London, May 12(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said even if bitter rivals Manchester City pips them to become the Premier League champions this season, it wouldn't mean an end to their era.
City needs to win their match against relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers at Etihad Stadium on Sunday to become the English Champions after a long wait of 44 years, and United would hope they slip up as they visit the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
While City look set to win the battle, Ferguson has warned that United are ready to win the war by overhauling English football's new emerging force, just as they did in the past with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
"We have to do something about it, don't we? We have to meet the challenge and it's a good thing for this club. The situation at the moment means we are probably going to lose out this season, but we're not looking as though it's the end of an era for us," The Telegraph quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"In many ways, it's the start for many of the young players here. The challenge is obvious: if we lose the league, we have to try and win it again. But we have our ideas about where we are going in the summer and I think we will be ready for the challenge next year, no matter what," he added.
"Whether that is as champions or runners-up, we will be ready for it. But we are certainly not going away, that's for sure," he said. (ANI)
